SAMANTHA JOHANNESSEN
Samantha's background in private practice and large hospital systems lends itself to a thorough engagement. Her prior roles include being the President of a 350+ hospital system-owned physician network spanning 92 practices, where she negotiated and executed all physician agreements. She also held other titles of CEO and Executive Director of multi-specialty and primary care practices, earning MGMA's most prestigious award of Best Performing Practices.
She develops strong physician-administrator teams while improving operations. She utilizes her lean six sigma black belt expertise to re-engineer processes that increases Physician satisfaction, patient satisfaction, revenues, and operational performance.
Samantha holds an MBA from the University of Baltimore, MD. She is also a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and is board certified by the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Medical Group Management Association.
JOHN JOHANNESSEN
John Johannessen is the Managing Partner for Edge Health. He is a focused leader with national experience in growing ambulatory systems for several of the largest health systems in the U.S. John previously held the position of Senior Executive Officer for Non-Acute Care Services at AdventHealth in the West Florida Division. His role was responsible for the development, implementation and operational oversight of all non-acute care services and played a crucial role in improving the continuum of care for patients in the AdventHealth West Florida system. He served a vital role in the growth and expansion of ambulatory services including imaging centers, surgery centers, express care clinics, freestanding offsite Emergency Departments, and physician practices.
Experience includes executive leadership development, financial turnaround strategies, population health, business growth strategies, capital planning and deployment, budgeting and M&A leadership.
John has an extensive background in growing physician networks and ambulatory services for health care systems. His experience includes positions with Universal Health Services as Vice President of the Physician Services Division and Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) as Division Vice President of HCA’s West Florida Division.
John holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Florida in Tampa, and an MBA from Berry College in Rome, GA. He is also board certified by the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Medical Group Management Association.
